Editorial Policy
FreeADHD.com is an educational self-screening website. This editorial policy describes how we create and maintain our content.
Last updated: July 2026
Purpose
Our content exists to help adults understand attention, impulsivity, and executive-function patterns through educational self-screening. We write for people first: clear, supportive, non-alarmist language that respects the reader.
Content standards
We use cautious, educational language ("may", "might", "suggests", "is consistent with"). We do not claim to diagnose, treat, or cure ADHD. We do not recommend medication or specific treatments. We always remind readers that a short self-screening tool is not a diagnosis and that a qualified healthcare professional should evaluate concerns.
No diagnosis
No page, tool, or report on FreeADHD.com diagnoses ADHD or any other condition. Screening results describe ADHD-like patterns based on self-reported answers only. Only a qualified healthcare professional can diagnose ADHD after a full evaluation.
Sourcing and attribution
We use the ASRS v1.1 6-Question Screener with attribution and in accordance with its published terms. We do not modify its questions, options, or scoring. Our supplemental questions and AI report are self-authored educational content and are not clinical instruments. External references are linked on the Sources page.
Review process
Our methodology and content are reviewed by credentialed mental-health professionals. Reviewed pages display a reviewer attribution and a last-reviewed date. We update content when the underlying screening instrument or relevant guidance changes.
Updates
We update our content as needed and reflect the last-updated date on each page. Material changes to methodology or policy are noted on this page.
